Resolved Question: Where to go in Thailand?

Me and 5 friends are going to Thailand in early July for two weeks. I know its rainy season there in July so I'm not sure what the beaches are like...are they worth going to? We are flying into Bangkok and staying there in a hotel for 3 nights. What is the nightlife like in Bangkok during July? for locals and foreigners? Also can you recommend specific areas in Bangkok to go out drinking and partying etc... After that we want to go somewhere for about 8 days before returning to Bangkok for a few nights and then getting our flight back to London. We have looked at Phuket, Pattaya, Ko Phangan and a few other areas where there are alot of tourists. Would any of these be specifically reccomended? We want a bit of adventure (elephant rides and such) and alot of partying there aswell. I hear theres a full moon party on during our stay aswell so I would like to know a bit about that? where to find it etc.. and also what would be the best way to get to Phuket or Pattaya from Bangkok.
